Kids Say the Darndest Things

You can't complete a trip to Disney World without some cute kids stories because, as JP liked to point out, they are everywhere!  Here are my four favorite:

JP and I were waiting for the bus to the Magic Kingdom to pick us up from our hotel.  It was taking an unusually long time, and a crowd had formed.  One of the familes in line was a British family with two little boys.  I'm not really sure why (maybe because the bus seemed like it would never come?) but what appeared to be the oldest little boy was throwing quite a temper tantrum.  He was screaming in his British accent and at one point he decided to lay on the ground and continue screaming.  At this point, the little brother came up to JP and me.  In his British accent he said to us, "He sure can be a tiger sometimes."

At the Magic Kingdom JP and I rode Thunder Mountain Railroad several times.  The very first time we rode it, there was a little girl and her dad in the car in front of us.  The little girl was probably about 4, and before the ride started, I wondered how she would do on the ride.  For a 25 year old, it is somewhat of a tame roller coaster, but for a 4 year old I can imagine it might be quite wild.  As we rode the ride the little girl would put her hands in the air.  When the ride finished and we were slowly rolling towards the spot to get out, the little girl kept putting her hands in the air.  It looked as if she thought that this might somehow make the ride start again.  Once off the ride, her Dad asked her, "Was it scary? A little bit or not at all?"  The little girl said, "Not at all! Let's ride it again!"

When we rode Test Track at Epcot, we shared a car with a little girl and her dad.  They were sitting in the front of the 6 passenger car, and we were in the back.  Towards the end of Test Track you make your way to a "test" in which the car goes about 65 mph around a curve that is outside.  As we approached the exit to the outside, the little girl, who must have ridden the ride before, said, "This is the part where Mommy is late for school."

It is important to know some of our family history to show the significance of this fourth story.  The first time we went to Disney World as a family, my sister was 4.  The whole time we were there Sarah kept saying how much she wanted a baked potato.  They were pretty big, and since they were sold in the park they weren't cheap.  Finally, my parents finally gave in and bought Sarah a baked potato.  No one thought she would eat much of it, but she at the WHOLE thing!
While JP and I were at Disney World, he loved the turkey legs you could get.  Even JP admitted that they were huge.  The last night we were there he was waiting in line to get a turkey leg and there was a little girl and her dad behind us.  The little girl said, "Daddy I've been wanting one of these since yesterday! Please let me get one."  She reminded me of my sister and the baked potato.  I don't know if the little girl ate all of the turkey leg, but I sure hope she did.
