Senior Year Memory Part ONE: Taking a step back in time...

I have been keeping a livejournal since I was in high school. I love looking back at all the memories from high school and college. It is so fun to look back and see what I was doing and thinking years ago. For some reason, I did not write a single livejournal entry my senior year of college. I find this very disappointing as so many fun, incredible things happened during that year. One of those things being meeting JP. There is no documentation whatsoever of this occurence.

Today is November 1st. I have decided for the month of November I will take a step back in history and document these memories. These memories will be in no particular order or significance... just whatever memory pops into my head at the time.

***********************************************************************************
Since yesterday was Halloween, the first memory that pops into my head is the first Halloween JP and I were together. At this point in time, we had only known each other for 25 days (we met October 6) so we were definitely in the beginning stages of the relationship. I'm not really sure if we were an official couple or not at this time... that in itself is a funny story that will probably be told.

JP asked me to go to a Halloween party at the Shire house (a group of Samford guys that live in a house behind Samford). Of course I said yes but I was completely nervous about what kind of costume to wear! Do I go all out or just something little? This was a big deal!

The first thing on the "to do" list for the night though was Trick or Treating for Pocket Change. My sorority did this ever year to raise money for our philanthropy, Children's Miracle Network. I went with my friends Amy, Laurel, Emily, and Blair to houses in Mountain Brook. We had a lot fun and had particularly noteworthy experiences with a child in a Superman costume and a girl with what she declared was a "ghost in a box" costume. The whole time, though, I was trying to figure out what to wear to the Halloween party!

Once we got back from our "Trick or Treating" I still had NO idea what to wear. I was discussing this with one of my sorority sisters, Lauren, and she had some ladybug wings we decided would work. So, I wore jeans, a long sleeve black shirt, and ladybug wings. I decided I was a success.

When JP came to pick me up, I was greeted by this:

Yes, his costume was Richard Nixon. Complete with mask and a full suit.

JP and I went to the party and had a lot of fun, but if you know JP, him wearing a full suit to a very crowded dance party was not the wisest of ideas since he sweats a lot very easily. We ended up leaving the party early because 1) he was super sweaty and 2) it was the Phoenix Suns first game of the NBA season.

At this point in time JP and his roommates did not have a tv so we watched the game in the Phi Mu house, joking that he was just using me for my access to a tv... but we all know that was not true, right.
